Role Description – Junior Designer

In the role of Junior Designer, you will design high-quality products in collaboration with other designers and the Creative Director. The products are designed in line with the company's aesthetic vision and brand standards.

You will conduct research and development based on inspiration and style, as well as design work within your categories. You will work closely with designers, R&D, product developers, pattern makers, and the atelier to ensure that products reach their full potential throughout the entire process.

Description of main responsibilities:

• Plan your work according to the seasonal schedule, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Work with clear deadlines without compromising on creativity, driving each product to reach its full potential.
• Have a deep understanding of each garment, working with thoughtful design and construction, and making smart choices regarding components such as raw materials, trims, and details to ensure a high-quality outcome.
• Work closely with your designer to develop your understanding of the price levels of raw materials used for each product.
• Plan design-related trips for inspiration in line with the collection schedule and given budget.
• Create and ensure that technical sketches are informative, clear, and easy to follow for pattern makers, atelier, product developers, and factories. Ensure that the technical sketch is updated at each step of the process.
• Ensure that the technical sketch and pattern correspond in all stages of the process.
• Work with clear and informative overviews, keeping them continuously updated.
• Perform well-prepared and proactive work during fittings, clearly pushing through the design vision while also considering further production processes.
• Ensure that Product Developers are kept updated on the development of styles and details for a well-functioning and proactive development process.
• Work closely with the pattern maker to ensure a smooth flow of development through pattern, atelier, and factories.
• Work proactively and prepare timely for meetings and handovers.
• Be aware of and updated on the quality level of the fabrics and trims used. Raise any issues with the product team.
• Take garment quality into consideration in each product design, and raise any concerns with the Product Developer (PD).
• Onboard new team members into routines, systems, organization, and structure.
